Ogni mese ha le sue parole, le sue immagini. In questa parte del mondo, Gennaio ti porta a parlare di inverno, di freddo, di una bella tazza bollente di cacao, di guanti, sciarpe e stivali.

Every month has its own words, its images. In this part of world, January let you think about a cold winter, a good warm cup of cocoa, mittens, scarfs and boots.

Ricamato su lino Edinburgo 35 ct Light Moka con i filati Gentle Art consigliati, eccetto le bacche di agrifoglio, per le quali ho usato Chilly di Nina's Threads, preso a due fili, per dare un tocco di colore più forte e una maggiore evidenza del particolare.

Stitched on Edinburgh Light Moka 35 ct linen with the given Gentle Art threads, except the holly berries. To give a brighter color to my work and to highlight the berries I used two plies of Chilly from Nina's Threads.

Capita di vedere dei ricami piccini, ma proprio piccini, che ti attirano anche se le immagini sui siti non sono particolarmente belle. Poi li acquisti, ti arrivano e ne apprezzi subito i colori, talmente che non resisti a tenerli nel cassetto per la stagione adatta, vogliono subito prendere vita. Ed io non ho potuto dire di no.

Sometimes it happens to find little and cute stitching projects that catch your eyes though they don't look very interesting on pictures. So you buy them, and when you have them in your hands they immediately catch your imagination so much you can't  keep them hidden in your projects drawer for the right time of the year, they want to see the light immediately. And I couldn't say no!

Anno nuovo, pc nuovo - A new year, a new pc!

A inizio dicembre il mio pc ha deciso di non abbandonarmi. Uffa!!!!! 

Quindi niente post, niente veste natalizia al blog, niente auguri, solo qualche commento arrabattato tramite lo smartphone. 

At the beginning of last December my pc broke up! So I couldn't post anything, I only wrote some comments by my smartphone.

Il piccolo Lorenzo, tanto atteso dalla sua mamma Antonella, non poteva non avere qualcosa di unico.

Baby Lorenzo took lot of times to join his mother Antonella, so he had to receive an unique gift.

A sachet for the little pyjamas with checkered DMC Aida, pattern from Mani di Fata magazine. Near the cat I stitched "I'm going to sleep".

Pour un doux hiver - Marie

L'altro giorno finalmente ho potuto ritirare il pacco che mi ha spedito l'amica francese Marie, mia abbinata nello scambio organizzato da Véronique "Pour un doux hiver". Io sono solita farmi consegnare la posta a casa di mia madre, perché sono fuori tutta la giornata e andare alla posta per ogni raccomandata o pacco che ricevo sarebbe troppo complicato. Purtroppo ho avuto una bruttissima influenza che mi ha tenuto bloccata a casa per molti giorni (dal 26 dicembre! ma ora sono di nuovo KO), ma finalmente ce l'ho fatta ed ho aperto il mio bellissimo pacco.

Mia cara Marie, che dirti se non un grazie infinite di cuore. Sei stata perfetta in ogni particolare, molto più di me, che a dicembre scorso non avevo nemmeno il tempo di guardarmi in faccia. E' tutto bellissimo. 

Guardate un po' cosa è stata capace di organizzare!

Last Sunday I was finally able to pick up the package that Marie, a French friend of mine and my combined  in the exchange organized by Véronique, named "Pour un doux hiver". I used to receive my snail mail at my mother's house, because I'm out all day long and going to the post for each letter or package I receive would be too complicated. Unfortunately I had a very bad flu that kept me stuck at home for several days (from December 26th!, but now I'm ill again), but finally I could go out for a while and open my beautiful package. 

My dear Marie, what can I say? Thank you so much from the deep of my heart. You've been perfect, in every single particular, more then me, who was so busy last December that I didn't even have time to look at my face. It 's all very beautiful.

Questi due bellissimi cuscinetti realizzati da lei. Sono ricamati un filo su un filo e sono di una perfezione commovente. Magari essere brava come lei! Le foto ovviamente non sono buone e nessuno si decide a regalarmi una macchina fotografica come si deve!

These two beautiful bearings were made by her. Stitched one thread over one they have a touching perfection. I wish to be as good as her! The pics can't show the perfection, but no one decides to present me a new camera!

Benvenuto al Natale - Welcome Christmas

E' troppo tempo che manco dal mio blog!

Non ho parole per descrivere quanto può essere frenetica la vita, come può mancare del tutto il tempo per preoccuparsi di se stessi. A volte mi sento come un limone spremuto fino in fondo!

Ma bando alla tristezza, voglio approfittare dell'attimo di tempo che sono riuscita a ritagliarmi per qualche aggiornamento.

It's too long that I miss from my blog!

I have no words to describe how life can be hectic, how the lack of time can be deleterious for ourselves. I feel like a squeezed lemon all the way!

But now I have no time to be sad, I want to take advantage of the little of time that I was able to carve out for some updating.

Innanzi tutto: benvenuto al Natale. Finora non ho potuto occuparmene. Pensate che non sono riuscita nemmeno ad addobbare la casa! E' una vergogna ma è così! Quindi, nel week-end posterò qualche foto dei miei decori.

First of all: welcome to Christmas. I couldn't do anything until now, even the Christmas tree! It 'a shame but it's true! So, next weekend I will post some pictures of my decorations.

Domani metto in partenza il pacchetto che ho preparato per Marie del blog La Mangrove, che era la mia abbinata per lo scambio "pour un doux hiver" organizzato da Véronique del blog Dee idées et dix doigts. Dovevo realizzare per lei un cuscinetto a tema natalizio da inviarle con una tazza ed il preparato per una bevanda. La pubblicazione della foto ovviamente non è possibile.

Per il SAL Vanitoso faccio un post a parte.

L'alberello di natale rosa di Manuela Albanese l'ho terminato, ma attendo delle stoffine per il finishing. Questa, comunque, è la foto del ricamo finito. Non è grazioso?

Mamma mia, che periodo! Non so più come dividermi. Cioè, io non mi dividerei affatto e trascorrerei la giornata a ricamare e creare, però il lavoro mi chiama ed io, fintanto che ne ho bisogno, devo rispondere!

Comunque, prima che comincio la mia solita litania, meglio che la smetto e mostro qualche lavoretto in corso di avanzamento, ricamato tra mille difficoltà ma ricamato.

Oh my God, what a period! I don't know how to part my time. I mean, I wouldn't divide at all and spend the day stitching and creating, but my work is calling me and I, as long as I need it, I have to answer!
However, before I begin my usual litany best that I stop and show some work in progress that have been embroidered with great difficulty but embroidered.
